News agency ANI has tweeted about this decision from the apex court of the country. The tweet said, "Supreme Court directs all State Boards to notify the scheme for assessment within 10 days from today and declare the internal assessment results by July 31, like the timeline specified by it for CBSE and ICSE."

It has to be remembered that due to the unprecedented rise in the number of COVID-19 cases due to the second wave of the pandemic, the CBSE, ICSE and several state boards have cancelled the Class 10 Class 12 Board Exam 2021. The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) had cancelled the CBSE Class 10 Board Exam 2021 on April 14, 2021. The board also cancelled the CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021 on June 1, 2021. Following CBSE's decision, the ICSE and other state boards followed suit.
The CBSE had earlier notified the assessment criteria for the CBSE Class 10 Board Exam 2021 results. The CBSE has also recently announced the assessment scheme for CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021 results. The CBSE has also informed the Supreme Court that the board will declare the CBSE Class 12 Board Exam 2021 results by July 31, 2021.
A PTI report on June 23, 2021, stated that the Andhra Pradesh government told the Supreme Court on Wednesday that it will be able to conduct Class 12 exams successfully as there are no reliable alternatives to assess the state board students. The state government further added that it will tentatively hold the Class 12 examination in the last week of July and the timetable would be issued shortly.
On June 17, the top court was informed that out of 28 states, six states have already conducted the board exams, 18 states have cancelled them, but four states (Assam, Punjab, Tripura and Andhra Pradesh) have not cancelled them as of now.
