Maharashtra SSC HSC Board Exams 2021: Will Maharashtra board exams 2021 for class 10 and class 12 students be held or will they be cancelled? There has been much speculation regarding the Maharashtra board examinations amidst the spike in the number of COVID-19 cases in the state. Several rumours are doing the rounds that the Maharashtra SSC and HSC board exam 2021 should be postponed due to this situation. However, students should note that there has been no confirmation on this from the authorities.

As per a report by India Today, postponement of the Maharashtra SSC and HSC board exams 2021 has not yet been announced. The Maharashtra board exams for class 10 class 12 candidates are set to take place in examination halls. 

However, there is a bit of good news for the students of classes 9 and 11. The exams for the students of classes 9 and 11 have been cancelled and they have been declared as passed.

Reacting to the postponement of the Maharashtra SSC and HSC board exams for class 10 class 12 candidates, Maharashtra Education Minister Varsha Gaikwad while speaking to The Times of India said, “I can’t say anything at his moment but, yes, a final decision will be taken this week itself. I will meet with various stakeholders and see what their views are about exams.” 

She also added that they are trying to accommodate all the concerns regarding the spread of the pandemic in order to form a proposal to put up the before the Chief Minister Office (CMO).
The Maharashtra HSC exams for class 12 board exam candidates are scheduled to commence from April 23, 2021 and set to end on May 21, 2021. As for the class 10 board exam candidates, the SSC board theory exams for class 10 are scheduled to take place from April 29, 2021 to May 20, 2021. The exams are supposed to take place in the offline mode.

There has been twitter trends regarding the cancellation or postponement of the CBSE class 10 class 12 board exams as well. Also, about one lakh students of classes 10 and 12 have signed petitions urging the government to either cancel board exams scheduled to be held in May or conduct them in online mode.

Reacting to this, a senior CBSE official said, "Adequate arrangements are being made to ensure the students are safe and all COVID protocols are followed. The number of exam centres has been increased by 40-50 per cent to ensure social distancing. The staff at exam centres is being sensitised to ensure all guidelines are followed."

The CBSE board exams are scheduled to start on May 4, 2021 and will continue till June 14, 2021.
