Amid chip shortage, IIT Hyderabad comes up with special course to support India Semiconductor Mission
The world faced chip shortage due to the COVID-19 pandemic and several industries are yet to overcome this problem. The chip shortage is going to stay for some time because of the complexities involved in the production of semiconductors. Amid all this, the Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IITH) has launched 4 years BTech in Electrical Engineering with a focus on IC (Integrated Circuit) Design & Technology. According to the institute, the program will significantly contribute toward making India a 'Semiconductor Nation'.
"The program aims to provide world-class ‘IC Design & Manufacturing’ specialists trained in the concepts and techniques of Fabless Chip Design & manufacturing, contributing significantly towards making India a Semiconductor Nation," the Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad said in a release.
This is a first-of-its-kind course that aims to provide end-to-end learning to create an industry-ready workforce.
