IIT JEE Advanced 2021 exam date: After providing the much need clarity on the CBSE exams 2021 date, Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ will announce the IIT JEE Advanced 2021 exam date today on Thursday, (January 7). The education minister will put an end to all speculations on JEE Advanced 2021 exam dates at 6 pm through his Twitter handle announcement. The minister had said earlier that he will also announce eligibility criteria for admission to IITs.
Informing about his scheduled IIT JEE Advanced 2021 exam date announcement today, the minister had tweeted on Tuesday, “ Dear Students, The eligibility criteria for admission in #IITs & the date of #JEE Advanced will be announced on 7th Jan at 6 PM.”

IIT JEE Advanced 2021 exam date is usually announced in September and the JEE Advanced administering institute conducts the IIT JEE Advanced exams in May. However, due to the coronavirus pandemic this year, the release of JEE Advanced exam date has been delayed like most of the exams. JEE Advanced exam organizing body as IIT Delhi last year.
On December 16, the education minister had said that the upcoming JEE Main 2021 will be conducted in four sessions in February, March, April and May. The best of the JEE Main 2021 scores will be taken into consideration for the merit list. The first of the four sessions of JEE Main 2021 will be held from February 23 and February 26 in multiple shifts.
Earlier, providing relief to the CBSE Class 10 and Class 12 students, Pokhriyal had announced that CBSE exams 2021 date has been postponed to May 4. This came after several students had urged the government to cancel the practical exams due to lack of physical classes during Covid 19 times. Pokhriyal, however, announced that the schools can begin practical exams from March 1 and continue till the beginning of the theory papers. The CBSE is yet to release Classes 10 and 12 board examinations date sheets. The government has already slashed the CBSE boards syllabus 2021 by 30%.
Notably, Joint Entrance Examination Main (JEE Main) is conducted for admission to undergraduate engineering programmes across the country, however, JEE Advanced is conducted only for admission to the Indian Institutes of Technology. To appear for JEE Advanced, candidates have to clear JEE Main.
