The train will be inaugurated a day before Modi's birthday, and operated between two major cities, Ahmedabad and Bhuj, for six days a week. The Vande Metro train is a fully air-conditioned train designed to connect cities within a 150 km radius, offering efficient and comfortable travel times of approximately 3 to 4 hours.
What are the safety features, modern amenities, and facilities available in the Vande Metro train?
Vande Metro train features: The train boasts some modern amenities, safety features, good design, and comfort such as a rain-resistant interior, jerk-free, fire detection, and CCTVs.
It has innovative features across its 12-coach configuration, which can accommodate up to 1,150 passengers.
It includes double-leaf automatic sliding doors and a fully sealed flexible gangway that ensures a dust-free, quiet, and rain-resistant interior.
Vande Metro Train: Upgraded toilets
The train features ejector-based vacuum toilets, an upgrade from traditional suburban trains and metro coaches. The train also comes with disabled-friendly toilets that are conveniently located at both ends of the train.
Propulsion and comfort
One of the standout features of the Vande Metro is its under-slung propulsion system, which relocates the engines beneath the coaches. This design enhances smooth passenger movement from start to finish and reduces crowding within individual coaches.

The train is capable of reaching speeds of up to 110 km/h and offers rapid travel between medium-distance cities. The design also eliminates turnaround time by having driver cabs at both ends.

It will depart from Bhuj at 5:05 AM and arrive in Ahmedabad at 10:50 AM.
In reverse, the train will leave Ahmedabad at 5:30 PM and reach its destination (Bhuj) at 11:10 PM.
Vande Metro: Stoppages
The journey includes stops at nine stations averaging two minutes each, which will be completed in approximately five hours and 45 minutes. The stations are Anjar, Gandhiram, Bhachau, Samakhiali, Halvad, Dhrangadhra, Viramgam, Chandlodiya, and Sabarmati.
