Vande Bharat Train: Railway minister informs world's first 7.2-metre train begins trial on Delhi-Jaipur route

In a tweet on Wednesday, Railways minister Ashwini Vaishnaw informed that the world's first 7.2-metre high-rise Vande Bharat train has started its trial on the Delhi-Jaipur route.

The minister shared a video informing that the Vande Bharat Express train has been modified for the route.

The minister informed that high-rise pantographs have been fitted on the roofs of a few coaches.

This will be the first Vande Bharat train on the Delhi-Jaipur route, which is expected to begin operations in the first week of April, post successful trials.

The train is expected to cut travel time considerably between the two cities.

Its overall journey between Delhi and Ajmer is scheduled to take a total of 6 hours and 5 minutes to cover the distance of 442 km.

With a train on the Delhi-Jaipur route, India now has more than 10 Vande Bharat trains ply different routes.

The Indian government has been using more of these high-speed trains to reduce travel time between cities and enhance onboard facilities for passengers.

The Vande Bharat train for the Jaipur route will have 12 chair cars, two executive cars, and one driver coach. The train's drivers have been given specialised training.

The train will have completely automatic entry/exit gates. Some of the facilities that the train will have will be two LED displays on each side of the coach to display its current running conditions, a high-speed Wi-Fi facility, and two charging ports under the seat.
