Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister Nirmala Sitharaman held pre-Budget discussions with a group of economists on Wednesday, June 19. The talks came ahead of the presentation of an imminent full-year Budget for the current financial year in Parliament next month.

A slew of topics were discussed in the meeting, including economic growth momentum, capital expenditure (capex), private sector investments, manufacturing, and production-linked incentives for labour-intensive sectors (restaurants, agriculture, hotels, healthcare etc.), Zee Business learned from sources. 

Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary, Finance Secretary TV Somanathan, Chief Economist Advisor V Anantha Nageswaran, and the secretaries of the departments of economic affairs, revenue, financial services and corporate affairs also attended the pre-Budget meeting.
