LPG Price Per Cylinder: State-run oil marketing companies increased the retail prices of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) applicable to businesses by about Rs 16.5 per cylinder with effect from Sunday, December 1, while keeping the rates applicable to households unchanged. Currently, state-run oil marketing companies (OMCs) Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL) and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) supply LPG to households—meant for private use—in 14.2 kilogram units and to businesses—meant for commercial use—in 19 kilogram units. In November, the prices for commercial LPG stood at Rs 1,802 per unit in Delhi, Rs 1,911.5 per unit in Kolkata, Rs 1,754.5 per unit in Mumbai and Rs 1,964.5 per unit in Chennai, according to the IOC website.

With effect from December 1, the retail rates of 14.2 kilogram refills were left unchanged at existing levels.

The prices of domestic-use LPG refills are at the current levels since August 1, according to information available on the IOCL website.

Currently, the three state-run oil marketing companies review the prices of various fuels regularly. These companies align the retail prices of their petroleum products, ranging form LPG to petrol, diesel and aviation fuel, from time to time, aligning them with international benchmark rates and foreign exchange rates. 

The three companies, IOCL, BPCL and HPCL, also offer a range of online services to enable their customers to perform a range of tasks with convenience. These services enable them to check the latest prices and book cylinder refills.

These facilities include mobile apps as well as WhatsApp- and SME-enabled services.
