Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy inaugurates CIL pavilion at trade fair; plans to auction offshore mines in 2-3 months

Union Minister of Coal and Mines, G. Kishan Reddy, inaugurated the Coal India Limited (CIL) pavilion at the India International Trade Fair (IITF) 2024 on November 14, 2024, in New Delhi.
The event showcased India's progress in energy security, innovative mining, and sustainable practices, drawing attention from national and international visitors.
During the inauguration, The minister lauded the company's role in meeting India's energy demands while prioritising sustainability. He praised CIL's contribution to socio-economic development, employment generation, and regional growth in coal-rich areas.
The minister further said three stages of exploration of the lithium block in Jammu and Kashmir has been done and the work for the fourth stage has started. "Have acquired 5 blocks of lithium blocks in Argentina and started its exploration," he said.
After the inauguration, the minister told the media that the government plans to auction the offshore minerals block within two to three months.
The CIL stall at IITF 2024 offers visitors an interactive experience, highlighting CIL's positive impact on India's economy and environment. The Ministry of Coal and CIL remains committed to ensuring energy security and advancing India's journey towards sustainable, self-reliant growth.
The CIL Pavilion also displayed its newly launched Golden Jubilee logo and mascot "Angara," inspired by the Royal Bengal Tiger.
