The country’s textile industry is expected to grow to $350 billion by 2030 and add 3.5 crore jobs, said Union Minister of Textiles Giriraj Singh in the national capital on Wednesday.
The domestic textiles industry is expected to grow to $350 billion by 2030 and add 3.5 crore jobs, Union Minister of Textiles Giriraj Singh said at an event in the national capital on Wednesday, expressing hope that the country will be recognised by brand ‘Bharat’ and its green, sustainable textile products on a global level. The Union Minister spoke at the curtain raiser event of the 2025 edition of the Bharat Tex exhibition, scheduled to take place in New Delhi from February 14 to 17 in 2025 where more than 5,000 exhibitors and 6,000 international buyers from over 110 countries are estimated to participate.
Singh asserted that the government’s PLI scheme for textiles will enable the apparel industry to boost production and promote branding. The minister also said that the scheme will enable the linking of the textile value chain and lure FDI in the country.
The minister emphasised that the country's demographic dividend will aid its growth, urging the state governments to participate in the event. “With innovation, collaboration, and the Make in India spirit at its core, this event is an embodiment of the 5F vision of the Hon’ble Prime Minister- Farm to Fibre to Factory to Fashion to Foreign," he added.
