Domestic organic food searches surges 47%, growth estimated to reach $8,918.5 million by 2032: Reports

India's fascination with organic food is on the rise, with a significant 47 per cent increase in searches for organic food, retailers, farms, grocery stores, and product dealers, according to a recent report by JustDial.
Amidst growing awareness of the health benefits of organic products, the domestic organic food market boomed. According to a recent report by IMARC Group, the market size reached $1,582.2 million in 2023 and is expected to grow at a CAGR of 21.19 per cent to reach $8,918.5 million by 2032.
The growth is led by metropolitan cities, with Mumbai witnessing a 90 per cent increase in organic food searches, followed by Pune (65 per cent), Delhi (55 per cent), Hyderabad (54 per cent), Bangalore (40 per cent), Chennai (38 per cent), and Ahmedabad (24 per cent). Non-metros also saw a notable 45 per cent increase. Moreover, Bhopal city recorded an impressive 18-fold increase in organic food searches, while Coimbatore saw a 62 per cent surge.
There was a 79 per cent increase in searches for organic food manufacturers. Pune, Mumbai, Jaipur, and Delhi saw the highest number of searches from this perspective. Searches for organic food retailers rose by 68 per cent. Bhopal saw the highest growth - a 49 per cent increase compared to the previous quarter.
Major cities like Mumbai; 152 per cent, Hyderabad 106 per cent, Delhi 100 per cent, Bangalore 44 per cent, and Chennai; 40 per cent also witnessed significant growth in organic food manufacturers.
The organic farm category has witnessed 31 per cent, in which Hyderabad, Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, and Pune are in the top.
In terms of organic grocery stores, 25 per cent searches increases in the aforesaid period in which Hyderabad, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, Delhi and Ahmedabad leads.
There was a 13 per cent increase in searches for organic product dealers, with Chennai topping the list.
The report highlights India's growing awareness and acceptance of organic food, driven by concerns about chemical pesticides and fertilizers.
The organic food market in India is expected to reach $8.918 billion by 2032, growing at a CAGR of 21.19 per cent.
Industry experts attribute the growth to increasing consumer awareness about the benefits of organic products and sustainable farming practices. As demand for organic food continues to rise, businesses are expanding their organic product offerings and investing in sustainable agriculture practices.
