ATF prices hiked; check out the new rates here
The downward revision comes after three back-to-back months of increases in ATF rates.
State-run oil marketing companies Indian Oil Corporation (IOC), Bharat Petroleum Corporation and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation reduced the prices of aviation turbine fuel (ATF), or jet fuel, by Rs 1,074 per kilolitre, with effect from November 1, 2023.
After the revision, the price of jet fuel for domestic airlines stands at Rs 1,11,344.92 per kilolitre in New Delhi, Rs 1,04,121.89 per kilolitre in Mumbai, Rs 1,19,884.45 per kilolitre in Kolkata and Rs 1,15,378.97 per kilolitre in Chennai.
Similarly, the price of aviation turbine fuel for domestic carriers operating on international routes stands at Rs $1,026.96 per kilolitre in New Delhi, $1,025.49 per kilolitre in Mumbai, $1,065.6 per kilolitre in Kolkata, and Rs $1,022.71 per kilolitre in Chennai.
The downward revision comes after three back-to-back months of increases in ATF rates. Analysts say the cut in ATF prices is unlikely to lead to lower air tariffs owing to strong demand.
