'Worm in sandwich': FSSAI issues show cause notice to IndiGo for serving 'unsafe food' to passenger

Country's food safety regulator Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has issued a show cause notice on Wednesday to IndiGo for serving 'unsafe food' to a passenger, only days after a worm was discovered in a sandwich served onboard a flight.
On Wednesday, Indigo stated that it had received the show cause notice and will reply in accordance with protocol.
On December 29, an incident occurred aboard flight 6E 6107 from Delhi to Mumbai. After the passenger uploaded a video on social media, the airline apologised.
On January 2, the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) requested that the airline show cause why its licence should not be suspended or cancelled, and that action be taken in accordance with the Food Safety and Standards (FSS) Act for supplying dangerous food.
The airline has seven days to reply to the notification.
According to an IndiGo representative, the airline has received a "show cause notice" from the FSSAI about a food item delivered on flight 6E 6107 from Delhi to Mumbai. We will reply to the notice in accordance with protocol."
