IndiGo launches first direct flights from Bengaluru to Mauritius, expanding global network

IndiGo has announced the launch of direct flights from Bengaluru to Mauritius, marking its 35th international destination. Beginning November 19, 2024, the airline will operate four weekly flights on this new route, becoming the first to offer a direct connection between the two regions. This expansion strengthens IndiGo’s global reach and enhances travel options for both leisure and business passengers.

With Mauritius as its 123rd overall destination, IndiGo aims to boost connectivity between Bengaluru—India’s tech hub—and Mauritius, a vital gateway to East Africa. The new route is expected to facilitate not only tourism but also trade, investment, and business collaborations between the two countries. Mauritius, known for its thriving sectors in healthcare, education, and tourism, is a key destination for Indian investors, further solidifying economic ties between India and East Africa.
