Indigo pilot assaulted inside aircraft amid delay in flight - Watch Video

Indigo Flight Cancelled: A video of a passenger physically assaulting an Indigo pilot inside the flight has gone viral. The video shows that a man hits an aircraft's pilot while he is announcing delays.

The incident took place on the IndiGo flight (6E-2175) which was bound to Goa from Delhi. The passenger, identified as Sahil Kataraia, was apparently annoyed because the flight was delayed due to fog by several hours. 

Indigo has filed a complaint against the passenger and is currently in the process of filing an official case.

According to Delhi Police, it will take appropriate legal action against the accused. 

In the short video clip, other crew members could be seen shouting at the passenger after he hit the pilot.

Meanwhile, the Delhi airport has issued an advisory for passengers, requesting that they contact airlines before travelling.

"Due to dense fog, flight operations at Delhi Airport may be affected. Passengers are requested to contact the airline concerned for updated flight information," said the airport authority in a post on 'X'.

"Any inconvenience caused is deeply regretted," it added.

Meanwhile, Indigo has issued an advisory due to bad weather.

"Due to bad weather, flight operations in #Delhi and #Kolkata are impacted. Please keep a check on your flight status at http://bit.ly/2EjJGGT before leaving for the airport," it said.

Passengers face inconvenience as fog delays flights

- Air traffic is heavily affected due to poor visibility.

- Passengers are not getting timely information from airlines.

- Arrangements are not adequate even at the airport

- Passengers face inconvenience due to flight delays or rescheduling

- Reschedule option available for late night or in next day flight

- Airlines staff says that this problem is due to weather, hence rescheduling can happen and no compensation will be available.

What is causing flight delay 

- Airlines do not have enough pilots with CAT 3 training.

- No proper arrangements for operation in CAT 3 and fog at airports.

- The cascading effect of a delay from one place to a further journey.

- Despite advanced technology, passengers are not being able to get timely updates.
