IndiGo to introduce business class seats on 12 domestic routes in mid-November

IndiGo will introduce business class seats in flights on 12 domestic routes in mid-November.
The seats will be open for booking from Tuesday, the airline's CEO Pieter Elbers said on Monday at an event to mark the airline's 18 years of operations.
Elbers said the seats will be introduced on busiest as well as business routes, including in select flights from the national capital.
According to him, the business class seats will be available on 12 domestic routes from mid-November.
The airline will also launch the customer loyalty programme 'IndiGo BluChip'.
On May 23, IndiGo announced that it will introduce business class in select routes this year.
Currently, Tata Group-owned Air India, Air India Express and Vistara offer business class seats.
The country's largest airline IndiGo will also launch flights to seven more international destinations in the current financial year, its CEO Pieter Elbers said on Monday.
Currently, IndiGo operates more than 2,000 flights daily and flies to around 120 destinations, including 33 overseas cities.
Earlier this month, indiGo announced that it will launch flights to Jaffna.
Elbers, speaking at an event in the national capital to mark IndiGo's 18 years of flying, said there will be more international expansion.
He also said that IndiGo will launch flights to seven new international destinations before the end of this financial year. The fiscal ends on March 31, 2025.
With the new launches, the airline will be flying to over 40 international destinations, he added.
IndiGo has a domestic market share of nearly 61 per cent and around 975 planes on order. At the end of June, the airline had 382 planes, including 18 aircraft on wet lease.
The carrier will be getting A321 XLR planes in 2025 and wide-body A350 aircraft in 2027.
