SpiceJet has started its Haj operations today, May 9 with the inaugural flights departing from Srinagar to Medina, marking the beginning of this year’s holy pilgrimage. These special flights for Haj were carried out on two wide-body A340 aircraft, each having a seating capacity of 324 people.

SpiceJet will also start special Haj flights from Guwahati, Gaya, Bhopal, Indore, Aurangabad, and Vijayawada, in addition to Srinagar. The A340s would be deployed from Srinagar and Guwahati.

The first batch of pilgrims from Srinagar left for Medina, Saudi Arabia, on Thursday to perform Haj. 

Last year, SpiceJet generated a revenue of Rs 337 crore from Haj operations. Alongside the A340 aircraft, SpiceJet will also use its Boeing 737 MAX aircraft for the special Haj flights.

SpiceJet's Haj special flights from other cities

SpiceJet will operate special flights from Srinagar, Gaya, Guwahati, Bhopal, Indore, Aurangabad, and Vijayawada to Medina between 9th May and 31st May 2024. Return flights from Medina are scheduled between 22nd June and 15th July 2024. SpiceJet will operate 102 special flights, catering to over 13,800 pilgrims during this special operation.
