Government to make aviation hub with EoD Business reforms

In a significant move to bolster India's aviation sector, the government has introduced new regulations aimed at making the country an attractive destination for aviation business.

These new laws prioritise ease of doing business (EoD), enhanced safety standards, and stricter penalties for non-compliance.

A key highlight of the new regulations is India's increased autonomy in investigating aviation accidents and incidents. The country will now have the power to initiate investigations independently, without relying on international agreements and provisions. This is expected to expedite investigations and contribute to improved safety standards in the aviation sector.

Furthermore, the regulations introduce stricter penalties for non-compliance, including potential imprisonment of up to three years or a fine of up to Rs 1 crore. The laws also mandate harsher punishments for offences such as aircraft tampering, reckless flying, and violations of safety regulations.
