Flight services were shut down on June 28 after a portion of its canopy collapsed during heavy rainfall.

Initially, SpiceJet will operate 13 flights from Terminal-1, while IndiGo Airlines will start operating 34 flights from September 2.

According to GMR, the number of flights will increase in the upcoming days to reduce congestion at Terminals 2 and 3.

The closure of Terminal-1 had led to a significant increase in passenger traffic at Terminals 2 and 3.

Moreover, a survey by Local Circles revealed that airline passengers consider security at Terminal 3 of Delhi airport to be the biggest bottleneck.

Here are the key highlights of the survey:

  • 62 per cent of respondents said security for entry and main security check is poorly managed at T3.
  • Terminal 3 is the most preferred terminal for domestic flights out of Delhi.
  • Terminal 1 is the most preferred terminal for flights from within India into Delhi.
