Aviation data: While air passenger traffic in India saw a jump of 21.4% to 1.28 crore year on year, Passenger Load Factor (PLF) dipped for leading airlines like Interglobe Aviation, Spicejet, Air India, GoFirst . The data revealed that Air India's market share for March saw a slight dip from 8.9 per cent to 8.8 per cent. On the same lines, its PLF also dipped from 89 per cent to 85.1 per cent month on month.

Vistara was a gainer in terms of market share as it saw a jump from 8.7% to 8.9%. In contrast, its PLF decreased from 92.8 per cent to 91.6 per cent.

Following in Vistara's footsteps, Interglobe Aviation, better known as Indigo, also saw an increase in its market share, from 55.9% to 56.8 per cent month on month.

However, its PLF aslo went dwon from 86.5 per cent to 84 per cent.   

Spicejet and GoFirst lost their market share as well as PLFs. 

Spicejet's market share in March dipped from 7.1 per cent to 6.4 per cent.

The airline's passenger load took a dip from 94.1 per cent to 92.3 per cent.

In the mean time, GoFirst's market share also slid from 8 per cent to 6.9 per cent.

GoFirst also saw its PLF going down from 93.1 per cent to 90.2 per cent. 

However, the aviation sector in India is growing significantly in India.

Though the majority of leading airlines lost their market shares in the month of March, air passenger traffic in the country saw a rise of 21.4 per cent to Rs1.28 crore year on year.
