Air Indias Newark to Delhi flight with 300 passengers onboard diverted to Stockholm
The flight was diverted to Stockholm due to an oil leak in one of the engines. Following the oil leak, the engine was shut down and later the flight landed safely in Stockholm.
An Air India flight with nearly 300 passengers from Newark (a city in New Jersey) to Delhi made an emergency landing at Sweden's Stockholm airport, news agency ANI reported. It said that Air India flight AI106 (Boeing 777-300ER aircraft) was diverted to Stockholm after it developed a technical snag. All passengers are safe.
ANI said that a large number of fire engines were deployed at the airport as the flight made an emergency landing.

A PTI report said that during the ground inspection, oil was seen coming out from the drain mast of engine two.
An airline official told PTI that the flight en route from Newark in the US was diverted to Stockholm in Sweden due to a technical issue. On Monday, an Air India flight from New York to Delhi was diverted to London due to a medical emergency.
