Air India’s new A350 to operate twice daily on Delhi-London heathrow route
The A350-900 will replace the Boeing 777-300ER and Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner on 14 of the 17 weekly flights, adding an additional 336 seats per week on the Delhi-London Heathrow route.
Air India is set to enhance the travel experience on its twice-daily flights between Delhi and London Heathrow with the introduction of its brand-new Airbus A350-900 aircraft. Beginning on September 1, 2024, this route will mark the long-haul international debut of Air India’s flagship aircraft.
The A350-900 will replace the Boeing 777-300ER and Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner on 14 of the 17 weekly flights, adding an additional 336 seats per week on the Delhi-London Heathrow route.
With the A350-900's deployment, Air India will have upgraded 90% of its flights to London Heathrow. Since April 2024, the airline has been using its newly inducted Boeing 777-300ERs with enhanced cabin interiors on the Mumbai-London Heathrow route, reintroducing First Class service. This makes Air India the only carrier to offer First Class between the UK and India.
Premium economy and enhanced cabin experience
For the first time, Air India will offer Premium Economy class on the Delhi-London Heathrow route with the A350-900, featuring 24 wide seats in a 2-4-2 configuration in a dedicated upscale cabin.
The A350 flights will also showcase new in-flight amenities introduced earlier this year, including upgraded chinaware, tableware, glassware, bedding, and amenity kits for Business and Premium Economy guests, designed by Ferragamo and TUMI, respectively.
Campbell Wilson, Air India's CEO & Managing Director, stated, “Deploying our flagship A350s and upgraded B777s to London Heathrow signifies our commitment to offering a world-class travel experience. We aim to exceed customer expectations as we renew our fleet.”
“With industry-leading cabin products on the A350, including a new Premium Economy experience and enhanced onboard amenities, we are confident that these daily flights between India and London Heathrow will become the preferred choice for travelers,” Wilson added.
