What is the Kisan Credit Card scheme?
An initiative by the Indian government, the Kisan Credit Card scheme has been developed to provide adequate and timely financial support to farmers under a single window from the banking system to help with their cultivation and other farming expenses.
Features and benefits of the KCC scheme
1. With the KCC scheme, farmers are given credit for meeting their financial requirements in agricultural activities.
2. The credit is also provided for other agricultural requirements like purchasing dairy animals, pump sets, etc.
3. Banks provide single credit facility/ term loans to farmers.
4. The credit is also provided for assistance in the purchase of fertilizers, seeds, etc.
5. Farmers can take a loan of up to Rs 3 lakh in the scheme.
6. They also receive insurance coverage of up to Rs 50,000 in the case of permanent disability or death and a cover of Rs.25,000 in case of other risks.
7. Farmers have flexible repayment options and hassle-free disbursement procedures.
8. No collateral is required for loans up to Rs 1.60 lakh.
Eligibility for Kisan Credit Card (KCC) scheme
1. Farmers who are owner cultivators, tenant farmers, oral lessees, and sharecroppers.
2. Farmers who are involved in the production of crops or allied activities such as animal husbandry along with non-farm activities such as fishing.
3. Self-help groups (SHGs) or Joint Liability Groups (JLGs) of farmers including tenant farmers.
3. Besides these, borrowers should be of a minimum age of 18 years and a maximum age of 75 years.
Documents for Kisan Credit Card (KCC) scheme
1. Properly filled in and signed-in application form.
2. ID and address proof like a copy of an Aadhaar card, PAN card, Voter ID, or driving licence.
3. Land documents that are duly certified by the revenue authorities.
4. A passport-size photo of the borrower.
5. Security documents as required.

Applicants can apply for the Kisan Credit Card scheme through both offline and online modes.
How to apply for the KCC scheme online?
1. Go to your bank's official website from where you wish to apply for the KCC scheme.
2. On the homepage, choose the Kisan Credit Card option and click on Apply.
3. You will be redirected to the application page, where you need to fill out the form with the required details and submit it.
How to apply for the KCC scheme offline?
Those willing to apply for the scheme through an offline mode need to go to the nearest bank or download the form from the bank's website. After filling out the form, they need to submit the form at the bank with the required documents.
