Foxconn to apply for India Chipmaking Incentives after withdrawing from $19.5 billion JV with Vedanta
Foxconn, the Taiwanese electronics giant, has pulled out of its $19.5-billion joint venture with Vedanta to set up a chipmaking plant in India. However, Foxconn is still interested in investing in India's semiconductor market and will apply for incentives from the Indian government to set up a separate chipmaking unit. The company is in talks with local and international partners to collaborate on the project.
