Yes Bank Q4FY19: Ravneet Gill to present his first result; will the lender show profit? Find out!

Yes Bank shares were trading on a muted note on Dalal Street, compared to the previous trading session. Investors were cautious as the bank will be announcing its Q4FY19 result anytime today. This would be the first result Ravneet Gill will present after being appointed as CEO & MD of Yes Bank. He will be addressing analysts in a meeting held on Friday. Most likely investors and experts are eyeing commentary on growth trajectory for Yes Bank. Also, one key highlight to watch would be whether Yes Bank shows any divergences in its books. At around 1145 hours, Yes Bank shares were trading at Rs 238.80 per piece up by 0.46%. However, the bank has already touched an intraday high and low of Rs 240.35 per piece and Rs 234.65 per piece respectively.
Talking about Yes Bank's Q4FY19, Edelweiss Securities said, "Growth is likely to moderate from the higher levels seen in earlier quarters, albeit still much higher than industry; Asset quality trends to be benign. The strategy under new management will be key monitorable." Also, Phillip Capital said, "Credit growth is expected to remain muted at c.2% QoQ vs 11% in 2Q19. NIM to remain stable ; We expect NIMs to start rising from FY20. Slippages will be moderate at Rs.9bn." According to Phillip, key thing to look out for is commentary from the new Management about growth, Regulatory compliance and Capital raise plans.
Similarly, IDBI Capital highlighted that, loan growth to remain high, though lower than last quarter. Higher provisioning to keep PAT growth muted. In focus would be new CEO to address analyst for first time. That said, IDBI sees Yes Bank's PAT to come in at Rs 9,23.1 crore in Q4FY19, down by 21.7% from Rs 1,179.4 crore in Q4FY18 and below 7.9% from Rs 1,001.8 crore in Q3FY19. In Q3FY19, Yes Bank posted a loss of Rs 6.96% in net profit to Rs 1,001.85 crore compared to Rs 1,076.87 crore in Q4FY18. On the other hand, NII rose by 41.2% on yearly basis to Rs 2,666.40 crore. NIM came in at 3.3%. As on December 2019, Yes Bank's gross NPA spiked to 2.10% from 1.60% on quartely basis and 1.72% a year ago same period.
