In response to the allegations made by Reliance Jio MD, Mukesh Ambani on Thursday against the incumbent operators in the country, Vodafone said that they have complied with every demand made.

“We have acceded to all reasonable demands for PoIs from Jio. The number of PoIs made available can cater to 50 million customers, in line with projected volumes and projections made by them. As a special case the additional PoIs were made available expeditiously,” Vodafone Official spokesperson told Zeebiz.

In his speech, earlier today, Ambani said that in the last three months, almost 900 crore voice calls from Jio to the networks of three largest competitors were blocked.

“We have not received required support from existing operators,” Mukesh Ambani reiterated.

However, Ambani said “Over the past months, the call block rate has come down from over 90% to nearly 20% as of yesterday.”

“We use a portfolio of technologies – 2G,3G & 4G to service the myriad connectivity needs of over 200 million customers, more than 50% of whom are in rural areas,” Vodafone said.

Airtel refused to comment to Zeebiz queries.

The new entrant – Jio has been sparring with the incumbent operators – Airtel, Idea and Vodafone over the past few months alleging that the point of intersections provided by them have been faulty.
