The national carrier Air India was carrying somewhat about 240 passengers from Amritsar to the national capital Delhi, however, the flight soon turned a nightmare for the ones who were traveling with carrier as the airline’s window panel fell off. This resulted in three passengers suffering injuries. The reason behind window panel off was due to severe turbulence the airline faced.

Many media reports have has stated that, Air India 462 which is a Boeing 787 Dreamliner (VT-ANI) faced a turbulent flight for 10 to 15 minutes while climbing from 8,000 feet to 21,000 feet. This led to one passenger hit his head to the overhead cabin because of bump, while two other passengers suffered minor injuries as the window panel came off.

The incident took place on April 19, and since then many users have uploaded videos in regards to the situation on social media.

A Newsagency ANI tweeted the video by saying, “Air India flight from Amritsar to Delhi experienced severe turbulence and three passengers sustained minor injuries. A window panel also fell off. DGCA begins probe (19.4.18)”

 

Here’s how three passengers got hit in Air India turbulence.

A senior official of Air India told in Times of India report, “This was a freak high level turbulence. AI and Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) is probing it.”

During the turbulence, as per the senior officials, even some oxygen masks also dropped during the severe turbulent phase of the flight.

The senior in the report said, “Our emergency response and angels took care of the three injured passengers who were taken to a hospital on landing in Delhi. The passenger whose head hit the overhead panel got stitches. Two passengers suffered minor injuries. They are all fine and took their connecting flights after getting the first aid.”

Now the matter is being investigated by Air India and DGCA members.
