Looking at the recent condition in Jammu and Kashmir, Vistara airlines, on Sunday announced that flights operating from Srinagar can be rescheduled free of charge and cancellation charges will be refunded.

Vistara's spokesperson informed Zee Business that, "In view of the present situation in the Srinagar area, Vistara is offering free date and flight change, and cancellation with full refund, to customers travelling to and from Srinagar in the next 7 days (upto and including July 17),  if they so request".

Since Friday, Kashmir is facing civil unrest due to killing of Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani along with his two associates were killed in an encounter at Kokarnag.

Monitoring the present situation in Srinagar, Vistara said that the offer is applicable to customers originating in other cities and connecting to Srinagar via Delhi.

"We also request customers departing Srinagar to report at the airport 3 hours prior to departure in view of enhanced security measures and increased crowding at the airport', the spokesperson added.

According to a dna report, other airlines might soon follow Vistara by coming up with the similar offer in Srinagar.
