Tata Motors says JLR sales up nearly 30% in September

Tata Motors-owned luxury car brands Jaguar and Land Rover (JLR) sold 28% more cars in September 2016.
Andy Goss, Jaguar Land Rover Group Sales Operations Director said, "September is always an important month for the automotive industry and we are proud of our results. Performance was strong in China and Europe, where collectively we sold almost 23,000 cars this month alone.
JLR delivered strong retail sales growth across all key regions with China up 50%, followed by Europe at 32%, UK at 30% and North America up 23%.
The company sold 61,047 vehicles, which was up by 28% compared to same month previous year, on the back of strong sales of the Land Rover Discovery, Discovery Sport, the Range Rover Evoque and the Jaguar F-PACE.
Jaguar witnessed 70% rise in sales, at 17,640 units as against the same period of last year. Year-to-date, Jaguar has sold 103,366 vehicles, up by 72% year-on-year.
Land Rover, in September 2016, sold 43,407 vehicles, up by 70% yoy. The SUV-maker has sold 3,30,659 units in year-to-date period, up 14%.
“With the new Discovery launched in Paris this month and sales starting for the first locally built Jaguar in China – the XFL, our British line-up continues to expand and delight in markets across the world, ” added Goss.
