Star Bazaar, a multi-format grocery retail chain, on Monday said that the company plans to increase the store count to 200 in three year. For the short term outlook, the company aims to bring the store count to over 65 stores by end of 2017.

Jamshed Daboo, managing director of Trent Hypermarket, the company which operates Star Bazaar, at a conference said, "We plan to expand the store count to 65 by end of 2017 and 200 by 2020. Also, we will be adding store in one more city in the South. Moreover, we will be focussing on opening small stores to make it easily accessible."

The retail chain already have presence in Mumbai, Pune and Benguluru.  

On Monday, Star Bazaar launched a "unique credit card" in collaboration with Tata Capital and SBI Card, called Tata Star Card for its customers. 

With this new card the customers will get 3.5% value back at all Star Bazaar outlets and additional Rs 500 bonus, through its loyalty program, every month. 

Daboo said, "We have always valued our loyal customers and believed in bringing more value to their purchases. In this view, we have revamped our loyalty program & now partnered with SBI Card & Tata Capital to make the shopping experience at Star more rewarding."

Daboo, also said that the company is targeting 50,000 card sales for the first year. 

The Tata Star Card has been launched in two variants: Platinum and Titanium, which offers savings to the loyal customers of Star.
