Rs 200 notes to be a reality soon; RBI places printing order
After introducing new notes of Rs 2000 and Rs 500, the RBI is all set to introduce new Rs 200 notes in the country.
Looks like currency notes of Rs 200 will soon become reality in India as the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has started printing the same.
News agency ANI tweeted that the decision to introduce Rs 200 notes was taken by RBI with consultation of Finance Ministry in the month of March 2017.

The tweet further said, RBI has already started printing of Rs 200 notes.

At present, India had small denomination currency notes of Rs 1, Rs 2, Rs 5, Rs 10, Rs 20, Rs 50, Rs 100. While high denomination notes were new Rs 2000 notes and Rs 500 notes. Rs 1000 notes were discontinued in November last year.
On November 08, the NDA government banned high denomination notes namely Rs 500 and Rs 1000 which accounted about 86% of the currency in a move to tackle black money.
