Reliance Jios FTTH broadband services may launch in June; heres probable plans
With the largest broadband network in the country, Reliance Jio that has made its place in the telecom market will soon be launching its fibre optic broadband internet in Mumbai.
The services are expected to roll out from June this year and will include Fibre to Home (FTTH) services. The minimum speed one will get under Jio’s FTTH services would be 100Mbps.
Jio’s Giga Fibre Broadband services are rumoured to be priced at Rs 500 up to Rs 5,000.
Special Plans
Jio’s Fibre plans are expected to start at Rs 500 for 600GB data with a validity of 30 days.
Media reports have also said that plans up to Rs 2,000 per month for 1000GB data at 100Mbps speeds will be available.
The Rs 500 will be a ‘Special Plan’ which will include 600 GB Data limit, 15 Mbps Speed limit, a report by Chandigarh Metro said on Wednesday.
The report further added that the Special Plan will have offers ranging from Rs 500, Rs 800 and Rs 1,000 offering data up to 500GB at 25Mbps speed limit.

Jio Fibre Plans would have a validity of 30 days and will begin at 50 Mbps for Rs 1500 for 2000GB data limit, a report by Tech Facts live said on April 29 speculating on the company’s plans.
The company’s 100Mbps plan priced at Rs 2000 would cap data at 1000GB.
Further the report said that the company’s 200Mbps, 400Mbps and 600Mbps having data limits of 750GB, 500GB and 300GB respectively would be priced at Rs 3,500, Rs 4,000 and Rs 5,500 respectively.
A report by India Today on May 1 said that Jio will be asking its customers to pay a security deposit of Rs 4,500 which would be refunded at a later date.
The report further mentioned that the service will come with a Fair Usage Policy of 100GB after which speeds would go down to 1Mbps.
The 100GB cap would not allow users to access 4K Youtube videos and Netflix streaming which consumer nearly 15Mbps of speeds, a report by Ultra News said on Thursday.
Bonus Packages
The Teleanalysis report also cited a source that said Jio’s FTTH service would offer ‘smart calling feature.’
“…all the phones in your home will get virtually connected. Means, if you got a call on the landline, you can receive it on your mobile and vice versa,” the report said.
Along with this it would offer a multiple solutions as ‘packages’ for its customers. This is most likely to include home automation, surveillance and security among others, the report added.
