A week ago when MD of Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) announced Reliance Jio's Prime Membership plans, he said that the company will begin charging its customers from April 1, 2017.

The plans that were unveiled on Tuesday specified that while users would get to make calls for free data offered would be capped at 1 or 2GB per day at the least.

Subscribing to Jio Prime with a onetime payment of Rs 99, RJio users would continue to get its ‘Happy New Year’ offer benefits for another year up till 31 March, 2018.

For its flagship Rs 303 plan that was unveiled on February 21 the company said its Prime users would get 1GB data a day for 28 days i.e. 28 GB a month.

While its ‘non-Prime’ users would get only 2.5GB for a period of 28 days.

For Rs 499, the Jio Prime members would get unlimited voice calling – local, STD and roaming to all operators for a period of 28 days.

Under this plan the data offered at 4G speed for the month was capped at 56GB.

If you are not a Jio Prime member, for the same plan besides getting unlimited calling and (which is free for all Jio users) you would get only 5GB data at 4G speed for a period of 28 days along with unlimited SMSes.

The data would also be capped at 2GB per day.

In comparison to Jio Prime, the regular Jio members would get comparatively much less data and other benefits.

The Jio plans start from as low as Rs 49 offering 600 MB of data (Prime membership) to up to Rs 9,999 a month.

Under its highest prepaid plan, RJio offered its Prime users 750 GB data at 4G speed with no cap on per day usage for a validity of 360 days.

Under the same price, its non-Prime users would get 200GB at 4G speed for a period of only 30 days.
