Q3FY17: Coal India's net profit down 20% at Rs 2,884 crore
The company reported consolidated net profit Rs 2884.46 crore compared to net profit of Rs 3617.17 crore in the similar period of previous year.
Coal India reported 20.25% year-on-year (YoY) decline in its consolidated net profit for third quarter ended December 31, 2016, result.
The company reported consolidated net profit Rs 2,884.46 crore compared to net profit of Rs 3,617.17 crore in the similar period of previous year.
Compared with preceding quarters net profit of Rs 600.17 crore, Coal India saw a whopping 380.60% rise.
Consolidated total income from operation was at Rs 19,704.45 crore, growing by 3.86% year-on-year (YoY) and 25.94% quarter-on-quarter (QoQ).
In Q3, coal production stood at 147.73 million ton versus 143.96 million ton same period last year.
From April - December 2016, period, coal production of the company was at 377.77 million tons from 373.51 million ton in April-December 2015.
On standalone basis, Coal India registered net loss of Rs 39.03 crore against net profit of Rs 671.53 crore in Q3FY16. Total income grew by 177.38% yoy to Rs 98.61 crore.
