Though generally, such games become popular during the holiday season, what could have jacked up their popularity and searches during the said period is the lockdown induced due to the novel coronavirus.

It must be noted that following the outbreak of the virus, Governments worldwide induced lockdowns ranging from a few weeks to months. As a result, most people were forced to spend time within their homes with little or no movement. Card games evolved as a major source of entertainment and time pass during this time. No wonder their searches and popularity went up by leaps and bounds.

Next comes Stud that’s popular in 4 countries that include Croatia, Philippines, Czech Republic, and Panama. Teen Patti, Baccarat, and Texas Holdem are next, and they are popular in 3, 2 and 2 nations, respectively.

The data also reveals a significant jump in popularity of a game like Teen Patti. Its popularity has increased by 180% from five years ago to now and as per research, Teen Patti is likely to be a global game by 2025.

It must be noted that the game is already popular in countries like India. Also, in the coming years, the popularity of this game is expected to up by several notches. Other games such as Baccarat and Pai Gow Poker are also witnessing a steady rise in popularity according to Teen Patti site Betway.
