Furniture and home products marketplace, Pepperfry on Thursday announced the expansion of its leadership team.
 
Pepperfry has appointed Abhimanyu Lal as the Chief Product Officer (CPO) and promoted Vice President and Business Head – Furniture vertical Hussaine Kesury to the position of Chief Category Officer (CCO).
 
“In this role, Abhimanyu will lead Product development at Pepperfry as the company seeks to amplify the innovation roadmap to develop leading-edge customer experiences and strengthen its position as an omnichannel powerhouse,” Pepperfry said.  
 
Lal is an e-commerce specialist with close to two decades of experience in e-commerce, start-ups, strategy consulting and product management. He was also associated with eBay India for 8 years. Abhimanyu is an IIM Ahmedabad alumnus and an engineering undergraduate from Netaji Subhash Institute of Technology.

We are keen on harnessing his vast experience in online retail and product management to accelerate our product innovation roadmap to strengthen capabilities, drive simplicity and build for scale. On his appointment, Abhimanyu said, “I am looking forward to working with Ambareesh and team. In the last 6 years, Pepperfry has re-defined the way Indians shop for their homes. My key focus will be on scaling up innovative and immersive experiences like Augmented and Virtual reality for Pepperfry consumers.”
 
The company has recently tied up with Quikr to expand its furniture exchange program. In an earlier interview withZeebiz the company admitted to a revenue target of Rs 3,000 crore by March 2018.
 
While on the other hand Hussaine has been a part of Pepperfry since its initial days.
 
“In his new capacity, Hussaine will be responsible for scaling Pepperfry’s house brands portfolio and growing the market for Pepperfry’s marketplace brands. He will also focus on bringing more product groups into the Pepperfry House Brands fold,” Pepperfry said.
