Paytm offers Rs 500 discount on Reliance JioPhone, but there's a catch

One of the largest digital payment service providers Paytm has brought in good news for Reliance Jio lovers, as the app is now offering up to Rs 500 discount on purchase of JioPhone. It needs to be noted that, the Rs 500 off would be in the form of cashback to customers who will use coupon code ‘Monsoon500’. This Reliance JioPhone offer by Paytm is a part of its ‘monsoon loyalty cashback’ program.
With Paytm’s Rs 500 cashback, one can actually reduce the price of JioPhone to Rs 1,099 compared to their previous market price of Rs 1,599.
Crucially, one needs to note that this Paytm offer is not related to the newly launched ‘Monsoon Hungama’ offer of Reliance Jio a special offer in which you can exchange your existing phone for a brand new JioPhone at an effective price of Rs. 501 only.
Under this, users will get UNLIMITED VOICE & DATA for 6 MONTHS on paying only Rs 594 at the time of activation. Additionally JioPhone users under this offer will also get a special exchange bonus of 6GB data voucher, worth Rs 101.Further, there is a combined offering of a JioPhone at effectively Rs 501 and a 6 months unlimited voice and data recharge of Rs 594.
Paytm’s offer is only available on Reliance Jio’s feature phone Jio F490M which is packed with Spreadtrum SPRD 9820A/QC8905 SoC comprising of a dual-core CPU and Mali-400 GPU with 1.2GHz clock speed. It offers, 512MB RAM along with 4GB of internal storage which can be expanded up to 128GB using microSD.
The phone also has dual camera with 2MP as rear alongside good battery life of 2,000 mAh.
