As a part of its promotional offer and to compete with cost-effective voice call packages available into the market, state-owned telecom company BSNL announced on Monday a new voice call plan at Rs 149 for prepaid customers.

With BSNL's new voice call plans, users can make free local and STD calls to all telecom operators for the first 30 days.

Moreover, customers also have an option to get the free unlimited calls for a period of three months by paying lumpsum amount of Rs 439, which is equivalent to slightly less than Rs 149 per month, cited BSNL in a press release. 

“BSNL has always been front runner in providing better and economical services to all their customers and this is one of the many such endeavours. Customers are coming forward to get our service which has helped our company to increase our market share by 1% since March 2015 even in these hyper competitive telecom services market,” BSNL CMD  Anupam Shrivastava, said in a statement. 

The telecom company will roll out the new plan on PAN India basis from January 24 this year for all new customers. Besides, customers of other operators who want to port out their number and join BSNL under mobile number portability (MNP) can also opt for this new plan.

Customers can buy BSNL's new plan through its franchisee, retail distributors and its customer service centers.
