L&T synchronises first 660 MW supercritical thermal power project
Larsen & Toubro Limited (L&T) on Tuesday announced the synchronisation of its first 660 MW supercritical unit of the thermal power project in a period of 42 months and four days on October 2.
The company is currently in the process of executing their 2x660 MW supercritical thermal power project at Chhabra in Rajasthan with the thermal power project being developed by the state utility, Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited.
“The synchronisation is significant since it is the fastest synchronisation for L&T amongst all its other projects to date and the speediest one so far for any indigenously manufactured super critical unit in India,” the company said in a statement.
The previous best unit synchronisation achieved for indigenously manufactured supercritical unit was 46 months for L&T’s Rajpura project in Punjab which has now been improved to 42 months, the company stated.
“The synchronisation achievement shows that L&T is well equipped to handle tighter project schedules and meet customer expectations. In this case, L&T has bettered its own record,” Shailendra Roy, CEO and Managing Director said in a statement.
Shares of the company were trading down 0.14% to Rs 1,467.85 per share in early trade, compared to its previous day’s close at Rs 1,469.85 a share.
