L&T net profit rises by 46%; shares close down 1.2%
International order book constituted 29% of the total order book.
Larsen & Tubro on Friday reported net profit of Rs 609 crore, rise of 46% year-on-year basis, for the quarter ended on June 30, 2016 as against Rs 418 crore during same period last year.
The results were announced after the market hours. The shares of the company closed at Rs 1558 per piece, down 1.20% on BSE.
The company's total income increased from Rs 20331.5 crore in the quarter ended on June 30, 2015 to Rs 22176.2 crore for Q1FY17.
"Larsen & Toubro recorded Consolidated Gross Revenue of Rs 21874 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2016, registering an increase of 9.1% on a y-o-y basis.The International revenue during the quarter at Rs 7622 crore constituted 35% of the total revenue", the company said in a regulatory filing.
The consolidated order book of the group stood at Rs 2.57 lakh crore as on June 30,2016, up by 8% on y-o-y basis. International order book constituted 29% of the total order book.
