Jyothy Laboratories Q4 net profit up nearly 32% to Rs 36 crore

FMCG firm Jyothy Laboratories on Monday reported 31.58% increase in net profit to Rs 35.61 crore for the fourth quarter (Q4) ended March 31, 2015-16.

Its net sales rose 12.39% to Rs 445.21 crore in the fourth quarter (Q4) of 2015-16, as against Rs 396.12 crore in the year-ago period, Jyothy Laboratories said in a Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) filing.
Jyothy Laboratories' CMD M P Ramachandran said, "Our numbers for the year show a marked improvement with a significant gain in market share for power brands across categories."
During the quarter, the company's soaps and detergent business, which includes brands like Ujala and Henko, posted sales of Rs 288.62 crore, up 10.12% from Rs 262.10 crore in the same period a year ago.
The company's home care business, which includes products such as mosquito coils, reported sales of Rs 142.23 crore during the quarter under review, up 18.73%, from Rs 119.79 crore in the year-ago period.
In 2015-16 fiscal, the company reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 157.95 crore as against Rs 121.12 crore in the preceding fiscal.
Its net sales/income from operation during the fiscal stood at Rs 1,664.73 crore as compared with Rs 1,505.29 crore in 2014-15 fiscal.
Jyothy Laboratories stock closed 3.15% down at Rs 298.20 on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
