A fast-moving consumer goods major ITC on Wednesday reported healthy second-quarter numbers for the financial year 2021-22 (Q2FY22), as both profit and revenue posted double-digit growth.

On a standalone basis, ITC’s profit jumped around 14 per cent to Rs 3697 crore in Q2FY22 as against Rs 3252 crore in the same quarter a year ago, while the revenue from operations grew 12 per cent to Rs 13553.52 crore in the July-September quarter of FY22 versus Rs 12103.75 crore in Q2FY21.

Segment-wise, the overall FMCG sector revenue stood at Rs 9678.13 crore, in which cigarettes revenue came at Rs 5641.72 crore, the company said in results filing today.  

In respect of the FMCG-Others segment, earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA) for the quarter ended 30.09.2021 is at Rs 402.67 crore as compared to Rs 393.92 crore in the same quarter a year ago. 

The company in its results filing said, “The continuing significant brand building costs covering a range of personal care and branded packaged food products are reflected under 'Other expenses' stated above and in Segment Results under 'FMCG-Others'.”
