IndiGo's OTP plunging in last 2 days: mass bunk, salary discontent among cabin crew
India's largest passenger airline company IndiGo witnessed delayed in its flights across the country on Saturday and Sunday. The company saw its worst On-Time Performance (OTP) in the last two days.
India's largest passenger airline company IndiGo witnessed delayed in its flights across the country on Saturday and Sunday. The company saw its worst On-Time Performance (OTP) in the last two days.
More than 56% of flight delays were reported on Saturday. On the other hand, the process of delay continued on Sunday as well. Moreover, more than 30% of flights are delayed even on Sundays.
Indigo accounts for 1600 flights daily.
What is the reason behind OTP taking plunge?
The reason behind the fall in Indigo's On-Time Performance was Employees taking leave on the same days. Leaves were taken at multiple levels including those who were cabin crew.

Employees are demanding salary revision. There has been salary discontent brewing among the IndiGo employees over continued pandemic-time pay cuts. No show of a large chunk of the IndiGo cabin crew resulted in the delay of flights this weekend.
Since Air India, Akasa had a walk-in interview on the weekend, it may have been the reason for the mass bunk.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has taken cognisance of continuous delays.
DGCA seeks a reply from Indigo Airlines. Indigo is now being constantly asked to tell the reason for the delay in flights.
IndiGo is yet to give any official reply regarding the delays.
