IndiGo receives its first A321 Freighter aircraft for cargo service
Building on the success of the CarGo business in the recent years, IndiGo has received its first A321 Freighter aircraft. Indigo's cargo aircraft is a converted aircraft, which has been converted from passenger jet to a full freighter configuration.
For the cargo service, Indigo plans to use the same pool of pilots and engineers that fly and service its current fleet.
Cargo aircraft will be used for both domestic and international cargo operations.
In its release, Indigo informed that the A321P2F (Passenger-to-Freighter conversion) is the most efficient narrow-bodied freighter available, which offers 24 container positions and supports a payload of up to 27 tonnes.
Airline plans to use the cargo aircraft for transporting products such as valuables, express shipments, perishables, general cargo, documents, and couriers.
Indigo Cargo is able to service markets between China, Gulf and the CIS countries.
