As India prepares for festival season, IndiGo offers airfares starting at Rs 1,111 in limited-period sale

Private sector airline IndiGo on Tuesday announced an annual, limited-period sale called ‘The Great Runaway Fest’, offering fares starting at Rs 1,111. The announcement comes as India prepares for the onset of the annual festive season due early next month. Typically, airlines announce discounted tariffs and special offers to tap additional demand during the festival months. 

IndiGo's Limited-period Sale: Here are five important details to know about this offer:

• Booking period: Bookings under the sale, which opened on September 24, will be available till September 30, according to the airline.    
• How to avail the discount? IndiGo said the sale offer is exclusively available on its mobile app and its website. The airline also said that the discount will extend to its other major booking channels from September 26 to September 30. 
• Card discount: The airline also announced an instant discount of 15 per cent on bookings made using select cards. 
• Daily flash sale: IndiGo will also conduct a daily flash sale during this period, featuring a different destination each day with an additional 20 per cent discount on the sale fares.
• Timings: The flash sale will be live for one hour on the said dates, from 12 pm to 1 pm, under which a limited number of seats will be on offer, according to the airline.
