IRCTC Q1 FY25 Results: Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) on Tuesday reported a standalone net profit of Rs 307.7 crore for the quarter ended June 30, marking an increase of 32.5 per cent over the corresponding period a year ago.

The company's revenue increased 11.8 per cent to Rs 1,120.2 crore on a year-on-year basis, according to a regulatory filing.

According to Zee Business research, IRCTC was estimated to register a standalone net profit of Rs 296.3 crore with revenue of Rs 1,175 crore for the first quarter of the current financial year. 

IRCTC clocked revenue growth in most business segments, with a 17.1 per cent increase in the catering unit to Rs 558.9 crore. Revenue fro internet ticketing grew 13.4 per cent to 329.07 crore, while that from its Rail Neer packaged drinking water increased 16.2 per cent to Rs 111.5 crore.

IRCTC's tourism business, however, logged a 12.4 per cent fall in revenue to Rs 124.9 crore.

IRCTC shares ended 0.7 per cent lower at Rs 918.3 apiece on BSE, amid market-wide weakness, minutes after the earnings announcement.  

As of August 13, Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corp (IRCTC) shares have risen 2.9 per cent in 2024 so far, underperforming an 11 per cent rise in the headline Nifty50 index. 

In one year, however, IRCTC shares have rewarded investors with a 41.2 per cent return, better than Nifty50's 24.2 per cent rise.
