In a bid to give a stiff competition to its rivals, Idea Cellular has revised existing recharge plan of Rs 198 to offer more data benefits to prepaid customers.

As per the new plan, now customers will get up to 1.5 GB of 4G data having validity of 28 days, while from previous offer provided just 1GB. Further, customers who opt for this plan via the official website or "MyIdea" application, will get additional 1GB of data totalling up to 2.5GB.

The revised Rs 198 plan also offers unlimited free local and STD calls on any network with 100 SMS per day.

However, on free calls, a customer can only get up to 250 minutes per day and 1,000 minutes a week and cannot call more than 100 unique numbers in a week.

In case users go beyond this limit, then Idea will charge them with 1 paisa per seconds for calls. This plan has been updated in cities like Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh circles.

Telecom operators like Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel and Vodafone India have gamed up with steep discounts in data recharge. These telcos are offering between 1GB and 3.5 GB per day with unlimited local and roaming calls along with SMS.

Thus, in these categories, Idea has also expanded its recharge plan from previous just Rs 357 plan, which provides 1.5GB per day for a validity of 28 days.

Under this plan, the company also gives 100% cashback on web exclusive offers and unlimited local, STD and roaming calls.

Two more offers of Idea namely Rs 449 and Rs 509 now provide 1 GB per day each for a validity of 70 days and 84 days respectively. These two plans also have 100% cashback on web exclusive offers and unlimited local, STD and roaming calls.
