Honda Motorcycles & Scooters India (HMSI) on Tuesday  sold 5,78,929 two-wheelers in April, up 34% compared to 431,065 units sold in the similar month of the previous year.

Honda said that this was its highest ever sales in single month. Yadvinder Singh Guleria, Senior Vice President - Sales and Marketing, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt. Ltd.said, “April 2017 results mark a great entry for Honda into the new financial year! Honda sold a total of 578,929 two-wheelers with phenomenal 34% growth on the back of customer demand for Honda’s upgraded BS-IV portfolio.”

Honda said that it exported 27,045 units,  up 59% from 17,030 units sold in April 2016. 

Sales from automatic scooters stood at 368,618 units, up 40% versus 263,324 units in the same month of previous year. 

Sales of motorcycles rose 22% at 183,266 units in April, versus 150,711 units in the same month of previous year. 

For FY18, Honda aims to sell 6 million units.
