HDFC Bank Q4 results 2023: HDFC Bank - Indias largest lender by market value - is all set to report its financial results for the final three months of the financial year 2022-23. The corporate earnings report of the banking behemoth comes at a time when the RBI has been raising benchmark interest rates rapidly to tackle elevated levels of inflation without hurting economic growth.
When will HDFC Bank report Q4 results?
HDFC Bank is scheduled to report its financial results for the final quarter of the financial year gone by on Saturday, April 15, according to a regulatory filing dated March 30.
"The trading window for dealing in the securities of the Bank will remain closed till April 17, 2023 for the designated employees, directors, etc," the filing added.
HDFC Bank to kick off banking earnings season
With the announcement of its financial results on April 15, HDFC Bank will become the first major lender to report its financial results for the quarter ended March 2023.
How did HDFC Bank perform in the quarter ended December 2022?
HDFC Bank reported a strong set of earnings for the October-December period — the third quarter of the year ended March 2023. Its net profit grew 18.5 per cent on a year-on-year basis to Rs 12,259.5 crore, and net interest income expanded 24.6 per cent to Rs 22,987.8 crore.
Both topline and bottomline were higher than analysts' estimates.
According to Zee Business research, HDFC Bank's quarterly net profit was estimated at Rs 11,900 crore and revenue at Rs 22,500 crore.
HDFC Bank's asset quality — measured by the amount and the proportion of bad loans in total loans — remained steady. Its gross bad loans as a percentage of total advances remained steady at 1.23 per cent compared with the previous three months, also in line with analysts' estimates.
