HDFC Bank gets mandate to collect contributions for PM Cares Fund; send via debit cards, UPI and more

Are you thinking of contributing for the PM Cares fund as a mark of solidarity towards the fight for the deadly coronavirus disease? However, you don't know where or how to send the money? Well, now you can send your contributions via India's largest private sector bank - HDFC Bank. The bank has revealed that it has received the mandate to collect donations for the PM Cares Fund.
"The account has been created "with the primary objective of dealing with any kind of emergency or
distress situation, like that posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, and to provide relief to the affected," the release said.
Individuals can now donate conveniently from their homes using their debit cards, credit cards, UPI
and digital banking channels, the release said.
Contributions to the fund are tax exempt under Section 80 (G) and formal receipts can be downloaded from the PM Cares Portal after 15-20 days of the donation. Donors can also make contributions to leading national NGOs including Goonj, Rapid Response Force and HelpAge India.

The PM cares fund was started by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for voluntary donations in the wake of the Coronavirus pandemic. The Covid-19 disease has till now affected 3666 people with 109 people succumbing to the disease. No of people who have got cured stands at 291.
